Doi Inthanon: Tuesday 6 August 2013

Given the closure of Mae Jo course this week, arrangements were made to play our usual Tuesday competition at Doi Inthanon. The change of location didn't deter anyone from turning up and we welcomed 21 members and 1 guest for golf, a great turn out! Welcome to our newest member, Willie Hopkins and our guest John Laidley who both joined us today. The course was in great condition but the greens were slow and caused problems for several players today. The final scores produced some good numbers and obviously some were able to play great golf despite slow greens. There were 3 players posting scores of 35 points but taking third place on a count back with 35 points was Frank. Taking second place was a great score of 38 points from Tony Guardino. Many of us witnessed Tony's tee shot from the first (just passing the red tees), so to achieve a final score of 38 points was a sign of Tony's strength of mind...........who would have thought it :). Producing a fabulous round of 78 gross and 40 points was Jack Cooper. Jack informed me early during the round that he was not going to test himself too much today but rather just play a laid back round...........wow, how we all wish we could be this laid back. Well done to all the winners and a huge thank you to everyone who arrived to support the temporary change of venue.
