Gold Mountain: Fri 9 August 2013

With Mae Jo still closed, the CMSG chose Gold Canyon to play their usual Friday competition. The course was in great shape and as usual, we received a warm welcome. The weather was a concern to some members who decided to withdraw form the competition today, that was a great shame because the weather conditions were fantastic for golf. It remained overcast, cool and dry for the entire round. Despite the weather, 10 members arrived at Gold Canyon and it seemed that most enjoyed their round. Given the low numbers, prizes were given to the top two scores. Joe Albright took second place with 33 points, well done Joe! (I have your money). Taking first place was Tom Berger with a great score of 37 points. Tom had an amazing back 9 holes and his ball striking was fantastic. His score, whilst great, could have been 40 points..........the greens were a little wet and Tom missed 3 birdie puts. Great golf Tom!
