Maejo: Tuesday 3 September 2013

19 members and 1 guest arrived at Mae Jo today. The weather seemed a little cloudy at the beginning of the round, however the humidity levels were high, making it feel quite oppressive at times....we did enjoy a wonderful breeze for about 2-3 holes later during the game though. We were able to tee off from both the first and tenth tee which reduces waiting time for everyone, despite this, the first players finished waited over an hour for the final group to arrive........more drinks for the earlier finishes!!
Tom Berger took third place with 35 points, Tom is certainly in the money this week having also collected at Lanna yesterday. Well done . Taking second place with 36 points was Jim Hopkins, another regular winner in the recent weeks. In first place with a fabulous 39 points was Christian, excellent golf Christian!
Due to my temporary return to the UK on Thursday, the topic of discussion today was who is going to step up as Captain at Mae Jo. Don Bishop nominated Jim Hopkins for the position and given the unanimous votes from ALL members present, it was decided that Jim will take the position. Jim was notified of the nomination, vote and the results when he arrived!!!! Only joking........but Jim's immediate response was 'oh man, I need another drink!',..........the words of a fine captain. GOOD LUCK Jim.
