Maejo: Tuesday 17 September 2013

Sixteen members and a guest (Kim) joined the competition under overcast skies. Due to wet conditions 'preferred lies' were declared. While we experienced a few sprinkles, we were lucky to avoid any significant rain.
The day's format was Stableford Nassau. Stuart Leckie won the most points for the front nine with 19. However, Captain Jim Hopkins notified the Mae Jo golfers that if any winner is not present when the results are announced after all players have joined the celebratory luncheon, he or she will forfeit their winnings, which will revert to the player with the next most points. This resulted in a countback on the front nine among Dao, Jimmie, and Christian. Dao Beece took the prize due to her bogey on hole number 9. The scores on number 9 of the other players will not be revealed, to protect the innocent.
Jack Cooper took the prize for the most points on the back nine with 17 Stableford points, tied by Jeffrey Himel who took the overall win with 35 points. Well done Jeffrey -- maybe this will stimulate you work a bit less and join us more often!

Thanks to everyone for coming out to compete and most importantly helping to make your league fun and enjoyable!
